Rachel obtained her Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia, where she received awards in recognition of her excellence in academics and advocacy, including the Richard R. Sugden, QC Prize in Trial Advocacy, the Gerald Donegan, QC Prize in Canadian Constitutional Law, the Panvini Scholarship in Law and the Joan Joyce Carter Memorial Scholarship for academic merit. Prior to law school, Rachel earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Strategic Management from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University.

During her legal studies, Rachel volunteered as a clinician for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, providing legal advice and representation to clients who would otherwise be unable to afford legal assistance. She also volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada where she performed client-intake for a legal advocacy organization dedicated to supporting women and children affected by violence. Rachel was selected to represent her law school in the Wilson Moot, where she and her team won a factum award for their written advocacy. She also served as the Director of Communications for the Allard Law Women’s Caucus.

Following her first year of law school, she was selected for a Litigation Fellowship at a leading construction and infrastructure law firm where she returned to complete her summer articles. Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Rachel clerked for two justices of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia. She was called to the bar of British Columbia in 2023.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys developing recipes, painting, biking, listening to live music, and finding new restaurants in Vancouver.
