Jean-Jerry Anty is an associate in the Business Law Group in Montréal. His practice focuses primarily on project finance, banking and financial law, corporate finance and infrastructure law. He regularly represents financial institutions and businesses in connection with their financing activities or their banking and financial / regulatory law activities.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Jean-Jerry practiced law in Paris within various leading French and international firms.

Jean-Jerry’s recent experience includes the following:

  • Member of a team that represented the sponsors on the implementation of an approximately $1.4 billion mining project in Guinea;
  • Member of a team that represented the IFC (member of the World Bank group) on the financing of a photovoltaic power station in Africa;
  • Member of a team that represented the lenders in a cross-border corporate financing and acquisition transaction by a leading customer relationship management company;
  • Member of a team that advised a leading French bank in the implementation of its tri-party collateral management services;
  • Member of a team that represented a Qatari bank on the regulatory aspects of an M&A transaction;
  • Advising Natixis (as a seconded lawyer) in the implementation of new regulations concerning financial markets in Europe;
  • Assisting various regulated entities (credit institutions, portfolio management companies, insurance companies, investment companies, payment institutions) in restructuring their activities in France in the context of Brexit.

Jean-Jerry earned a professional Master 2 (LLM) in Banking and Financial Law from the University of Paris I - Panthéon Sorbonne, obtained in 2014. He also received in 2013 a Master 2 (MSc) in Finance, specializing in project finance and structured finance, jointly delivered by the University of Paris Nanterre and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
