Hubert Cadotte is an associate in our Tax Law Group in Montreal. His practice focuses on indirect taxes, more specifically on the application of GST/HST, the Quebec sales tax and other provincial sales taxes. He is recognized for his in-depth knowledge of the application of GST/HST and the Quebec sales tax in the financial sector.

Hubert advises in matters of commodity taxation in order to resolve complex disputes with tax authorities and helps develop innovative strategies, notably those addressing corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border transactions. His advice focuses on value-added solutions and risk management.

Before joining McCarthy Tétrault, Hubert practiced in the field of indirect taxes at a major professional services firm for four years. He has acquired extensive experience in the financial sector and frequently advises major financial institutions in matters of GST/HST and Quebec sales tax. In his role, he also gave a presentation at a conference for asset managers and investment fund professionals.

Hubert obtained his LLB from Université de Sherbrooke in 2017, as well as a master’s degree in Taxation and a graduate diploma in Commodity Taxation from Université de Sherbrooke in 2019.

 He was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2018.
