Eashan Karnik is an Associate in the MT>Ventures division of McCarthy Tétrault in Toronto. Eashan is focused purely on high-growth startups and delivers tailored legal advice for managing growth and developing strategy. He has advised clients on a broad range of issues in venture financing, compliance with regulatory authorities, labour & employment, and corporate governance.

Eashan received his law degree from the University of Ottawa, where he was a member of the Technology Law Group and a consultant with the Legal Innovation Zone. Eashan also has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto and a certificate in Company Law from the University of Cambridge.

Eashan joined MT>Ventures as an Associate after working as a litigator in a full-service boutique law firm in Toronto. Eashan has also worked as a consultant for a legal technology incubator and a leading Toronto-based startup focused on automating legal drafting.

Prior to law school, Eashan served the public in both provincial and municipal policy roles. His contributions have led to his selection as a Canadian 30 Under 30 in 2019 and a Head Delegate for Canada at the World Trade Organization’s Public Forum. Due to his work for the community, he was also awarded the Civic Award of Recognition by Mayor Bonnie Crombie, elected into the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts, and invited by Prime Minister Trudeau to speak on entrepreneurship at Parliament Hill.

Eashan was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021 and is member of the Law Society of Ontario.
