Brendan Festeryga is an associate in the Tax Group in Toronto, where he maintains a practice in domestic and international corporate tax planning.

Before starting law school at the Peter A. Allard School of Law (UBC), Brendan studied Philosophy at Dalhousie University. While attending Dalhousie, Brendan quarterbacked the upstart football program for its first three seasons. In 2011, he led the Tigers to the final of the AFL, and received the Bob Lewington Award given to the team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player. In 2016, Brendan completed his BA, receiving the University Medal in Philosophy for most outstanding academic record in the program.

While at law school, Brendan volunteered at LSLAP, which provides free legal advice to low-income BC residents. Brendan was also active in the Legal Education Outreach program, which organizes workshops at schools in low-income areas in order to promote the benefits of a legal education. Brendan excelled academically in law school as well; he received the class prize in Corporate Transactions, and was chosen to represent UBC in Singapore at the International Insolvency Moot, where his team placed second. He received his JD from UBC in 2019.

Brendan was called to the Ontario bar in 2020, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
